ODVAODVA is an international association comprising members from the world's leading automation companies. Collectively, ODVA and its members support network technologies based on the Common Industrial Protocol (CIP™). These currently include DeviceNet™, EtherNet/IP™, CompoNet™, and the major extensions to CIP — CIP Safety™, CIP Sync™, and CIP Motion™. ODVA manages the development of these open technologies, and assists manufacturers and users of CIP networks through tools, training and marketing activities.

In addition, ODVA offers conformance testing to help ensure that products built to its specifications operate in multi-vendor systems. ODVA also is active in other standards’ development organizations and industry consortia to drive the growth of open communication standards.


Component Obsolescence Group (COG) International, established in 1997 to provide a global, is an industry-wide forum for the discussion of obsolescence issues. It runs workshops, seminars and conferences to provide training and enable members to share information and solutions, and it has formed working groups dedicated to addressing key issues. It also publishes guidance booklets and provides links to other sources of information via its website www.cog.org.uk.


ISO 9000 is a generic name given to a family of standards developed to provide a framework around which a quality management system can effectively be based. ISO 9001:2000, the requirement standard, requires that companies meet quality standards in the categories of quality management systems, management responsibility, resource management, product realization and measurement analysis and improvement.


The Fablesss Semiconductor Association (FSA) is the voice of the global fabless business model. Industry leaders incorporated FSA in 1994 on the premise that the fabless business model would be a viable, long-term business model. Today, the viability of outsourcing as a sustainable business model for the industry has been proven, and FSA is focused on the perpetuation of this business model throughout the worldwide semiconductor industry.


AeA (formerly the American Electronics Association), founded in 1943, is a nationwide non-profit trade association that represents all segments of the technology industry and is dedicated solely to helping their members’ top line and bottom line. In partnership with small, medium, and large member companies, AeA lobbies governments at the state, federal, and international levels; providing access to capital and business opportunities; and offering select business services and networking programs.


As part of its commitment to Industrial Real-Time Ethernet, Innovasic is a member of the EtherCat Technology group, an international user and vendor organization in which key user companies from various industries and leading automation suppliers join forces to support, promote and advance the EtherCAT technology.
