The IC is born. The OEM rejoices and shouts into the street that this IC will revolutionize the world by providing the latest in microelectronic technology. The IC enjoys life on its fab line and in the various electronic products that have chosen to make it a part of their family. The IC has found its purpose in life and everyone is happy.
Then one day, the OEM realizes that junior just isnt the same. Hes older, hes running a little slower, and hes not as popular as the new ICs on the block. So the OEM announces that it can no longer support the IC and throws it out on the street. But not before the OEM gives customers one last chance to buy as many of the IC as they can provide a home for in their warehouses. After all, the money earned from the lifetime buy will provide the capital for the OEM to produce a new IC.Life on the streets is tough for the IC. The Aftermarket exploits the IC to electronic products who just cant continue life in their current form without it. Many of the electronic products search and search for leftover inventory of the IC and then just give up and undergo costly surgery to redesign their circuitry so that they no longer need the IC to live. Then one day the IC is gone from the Aftermarket and most of the electronic products that needed the IC have come to know life without it. And so the IC fades into history and the story of how great it once was is preserved in a data sheet. But there will always be a group of faithful followers who believed in the IC and who will continue to search the earth for a replacement. And that's where Innovasic comes in...
