RoHS Compliance

The European Union Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive restricts the use of lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, and two brominated-flame retardants PBB (polybrominated biphenyls) and PBDE (polybrominated diphenyl ethers) in electrical and electronic products sold in Europe after July 1, 2006.

Innovasic Semiconductor certifies that to its knowledge products, which are designated to be RoHS compliant, meet the requirements of the European Union Restriction on the use of Hazardous Substances under (RoHS) Directive, 2002/95/EC.

Any package stated to be RoHS compliant will follow the limits listed below:

Lead (Pb) 1000 ppm weight in homogeneous materials
Mercury (Hg) 1000 ppm weight in homogeneous materials
Cadmium (Cd) 100 ppm weight in homogeneous materials
Hexavalent Chromium (CrVI) 1000 ppm weight in homogeneous materials
Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB) 1000 ppm weight in homogeneous materials
Polybrominated Biphenyl Ethers (PBDE) 1000 ppm weight in homogeneous materials

With the publication of the "candidate list" (Article 59 REACH) on 28 October 2008, Article 33(1) of the REACH Regulation obliges suppliers to inform the recipients of the presence of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC). At present, 16 substances have been included in the "candidate list".

Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC):

  1. Carcinogenic, Mutagenic or toxic to Reproduction (CMR), meeting the criteria for classification in Category 1 or 2 in accordance with Directive 67/548/EEC,
  2. Persistent, Bioaccumulative and Toxic (PBT) or very Persistent and very Bioaccumulative (vPvB) according to the criteria in Annex XIII of the REACH Regulation, and/or
  3. Identified, on a case-by-case basis, from scientific evidence as causing probable serious effects of human health or the environment of an equivalent level of concern as those above (e.g. endocrine disruptors).

Based on available information and analytical data from our suppliers, none of the restricted chemicals are contained in any substance, chemical, part or assembly supplied in Innovasic's products.
